Day 8: Welcome to Sydney, Australia

So... the day we leave Cairns, the weather was amazingly beautiful. They were sunny skies for miles. Unfortunately, we were on our way to the airport. 

Sydney, here we come!!!

Qantas signature Kangaroo on the tail of all their planes. Look at that view, it is beautiful. 

Once we landed in Sydney, we were met by our driver who would take us to our last apartment in Australia. Charm was excited to see Bailey on the sign.

We arrived in Sydney on the last day of the VIVID festival. There are beautiful light displays all over the city and the streets are filled with vivid colors.

The Vivid displays were absolutely stunning. We made it just in time.

Day 2: Welcome to Melbourne!

We landed in Melbourne, Australia at 6:30am on Sunday, June 11th, 2017. (We completely missed Saturday) We are finally off the plane and headed to customs. (Customs Update: While going thru customs, photos are not allowed but I had to inform everyone of what happened during our transition in Australia. If, you didn't know, you are not allowed to bring any fruits into the country. While being sniffed by a Dog in customs, he stopped at 1 of us and sat down, signaling his carrier to search that person's bag. Who was it? The Apple Queen herself, Reponzell Morris. We were held in customs and she was questioned by a customs agent on if she had any fruits in that bag. Nervously, she answered No, but remembered she had stored 2 apples in the bag prior to departing the plane. She had eaten 1 and the other she threw away. After making us sweat for 10 min, we were released. Thank you Lord! We didn't know what to do if Mom had gotten locked up for trying to bring fruit in the count...

Day 4: Last Day in Melbourne

G'day mate!! Today we literally walked around the entire city of Melbourne. This was our final day in Melbourne so we had to get in as much as we could in a short amount of time. Let's take a look at our day. The morning started off with a little reminder of what was going on back home in the states. It was NBA finals time!!! Unfortunately we had a scheduled tour starting at 10am. Maybe they won't notice if we disappear.  Today we took a Hidden Secrets Tour of Downtown Melbourne. Our tour guide was Amy, she was a local who loves the city and has more knowledge than most about this amazing city.  Amy told stories of the grand Cathedral, this is one of the most popular cathedrals in all of Australia, not just Melbourne.  The tallest building in Melbourne is the Eureka Building. This building has 91 floors. She also told us about the observation deck that occupies the entire 88th floor of the building. We might have to check that out. This popular ...

Day 10: Blue Mountains of Australia

Today we took a journey to the Blue Mountains of Australia. Here are some of the breathtaking views and funny photos of our journey to the top of the Blue Mountains. We even met a new friend, her name is Esther and she is from Holland. These pictures are worth a thousand words. After our trip to the mountains we went to Featherdale Wildlife Park and we finished up the day on a cruise back to the Sydney Harbour.  A beautiful ending to a beautiful day!
